Dates when things happen for Year One practicum 2019
Hamilton Campus Year 1 pre-service teachers briefed about practica in general during a Professional Practice and Inquiry P/L during semester A. Tauranga campus pre-service teachers will receive general practica information during the same week. MMP pre-service teachers will receive this information during their on campus week beginning Mon 13 Feb.
Early Semester B
Hamilton and Tauranga Campus and MMP pre-service teachers will be notified of their Associate Teacher and their class level within their placement school.
Decisions regarding these placements will be made after consultation with the schools, the Associate Teachers and FOE staff.
Practicum briefing meetings so you know what to teach.
It is compulsory for all pre-service teachers placed on practicum to attend briefing meetings.
Year 1 BTchg MMP
A briefing meeting will be scheduled for Yr 1 MMP students during the on campus week.
Year 1 BTchg Hamilton campus
Wednesday 25 September. 1.00 – 2.00 Venue TL 2.26
Room numbers to be advised via the website and practicum notice board just prior to this date, once students have been placed and know which schools they are going to.
Year 1 BTchg Tauranga campus

Practicum begins Monday 14 October – Friday 1 November /Friday 10 November
Practicum ends for Year 1 pre-service teachers (pre-service teachers who have absences will need to add on time to meet requirements). Hamilton and Tauranga campus pre-service teachers will be required to attend practicum debriefing meetings at your school with your Associate Lecturer. Venues and timetables will be identified by the school. MMP pre-service teachers will have an online task to complete as part of the debriefing process.
